Mr. Irwin offered the following resolution: Resolved, That the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Senate be directed to furnish each member of the Senate with five daily papers published in this State, or their equivalent in weeklies. Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate be directed to inform the Assembly that the Senate is now organized by the election of the following permanent officers, and is ready to proceed with legislative business: Resolved, That the Senate now proceed to the election of a Chaplain. Mr. Van Dyke moved to lay the resolution on the table. Lost. Mr. Rhodes moved to indefinitely postpone the resolution. Upon which, Messrs. Baker, Parks, and Irwin, demanded the ayes and noes.
