'The fees received by said judge shall be payment in full CHAP. for his services, provided, that the city council of the city of Compensation Old Town may at any time by vote determine to pay him a salary which may be accepted by him instead of said fees and shall not be diminished during his term of office; and if such salary is so accepted by him, he shall pay all fees of office by him received in criminal cases into the treasury of said city of Old Town, except fees for making copies on orders to recognize and on appeals.'

SECT. 3. All provisions of said chapter one hundred and seventy-seven incorsistent herewith, are hereby repealed. SECT. 4. This act shall take effect when approved.

Chapter 7.

An Act to incorporate the town of New Sweden.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in Legislature assembled, as follows:

SECT. 1. Township number fifteen, range three, west from the east line of the state, in the county of Aroostook, and town of, known as New Sweden plantation, is hereby incorporated into a town by the name of New Sweden, and the inhabitants of said town are hereby vested with all the powers, privileges, immunities and liabilities of other towns.

SECT. 2. Any justice of the peace within the county of Aroostook is hereby empowered to issue his warrant to some inhabitant of said town, directing him to notify the inhabitants thereof to meet at such time and place as he shall appoint, to choose such officers as other towns are empowered to choose at their annual town meeting.

An Act relating to the Rockland Water Company.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in Legislature assembled, as follows:

SECT. 1. The Rockland Water Company is hereby authand mortgage orized to issue its bonds for corporation purposes in such amount and for such time and upon such rates as said company may deem expedient, and may secure the same by mortgage of the franchise and property of the said corporation. SECT. 2. The Rockland Water Company and the Camden contracts with and Rockland Water Company may contract with each other as said companies may determine as to the manner of exercising the chartered rights, privileges and powers of said companies or of either of them, and may guarantee the contracts, obligations and liabilities of each other; and both of said companies are hereby authorized to purchase and own stock in other corporations.

An Act to amend an act entitled "An Act to incorporate the Maine Sportsmen's Fish and Game Association, being chapter five hundred thirty-two of the Private and Special Laws of eighteen ninety-three.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in Legislature assembled, as follows:

SECT. 1. Section nine of chapter five hundred thirty-two of the private and special laws of eighteen hundred ninetythree is hereby amended by inserting after the word "for" in the second line, the words 'one-fifth of,' so that said section as amended, shall read as follows:

'SECT. 9. The membership fee of the association shall be the subscribing and paying for one-fifth of one share of the capital stock of the association, the par value of which shall be ten dollars. All stock subscribed and paid for by members, shall be held in trust by the association and forfeited to non-payment the association on failure of payment of the annual dues, which shall not exceed five dollars for each year; provided,

Section one of chapter six hundred seven of sec. 1, ch. 607, the special laws of eighteen hundred and ninety-three is hereby of 1893, amended by striking out the words "Glidden Water, Illuminating and Power" in the tenth and eleventh lines and inserting in place thereof 'Twin Village Water' so that said section when amended, shall read as follows:

An Act to exempt the outlet of Davis Lake from the provisions of chapter five hundred and two of the private and special laws of eighteen hundred ninety-three.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in Legislature assembled, as follows :

SECT. 1. The stream flowing from Davis lake, in the town of Eddington, within the county of Penobscot, is hereby made exempt from the provisions of chapter five hundred and two of the private and special laws of eighteen hundred ninety-three.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in Legislature assembled, as follows:

SECT. 1. The first section of chapter one hundred and ninety-seven of special acts of eighteen hundred and sixtynine, is hereby amended by inserting after the words "sixtysix" in the second line thereof, the words and the third section of said chapter one hundred and fifty-nine, as amended by chapter three hundred and sixty-four of the special acts of eighteen hundred and sixty-seven ;" and by striking out from said section the words, in the fifth line," so that said section. as amended, shall read as follows:

'SECT. 1. The first section of chapter one hundred and fifty-nine of the special acts of eighteen hundred and sixtysix and the third section of said chapter one hundred and fifty-nine, as amended by chapter three hundred and sixtyfour of the special acts of eighteen hundred and sixty-seven is hereby amended by inserting after the words "city of Portland" the words and to the corporations and inhabitants of the towns of Gorham, Westbrook, Cape Elizabeth and to the forts situated in Cape Elizabeth.'
