The appropriations for the fiscal year 1935 aggregate $286,368,132. This indicates facial increase for the fiscal year 1936 over 1935 of $186,853,499. However, the appropriation act for the fiscal year 1935 augmented the annual appropriations by the reappropriation of unexpended balances of certain appropriations for prior years and authorized transfers from certain revolving funds of amounts aggregating $9,080,249. In addition, by section 21 (e) of the Independent Offices Appropriation Act for 1935 an indefinite appropriation was made to provide for pay restoration from 90 to 95 percent, and for other increases in compensation and allowances for the fiscal year 1935. amount required for this purpose is now estimated at $16,649,716. These additions bring the total availability for the fiscal year 1935 up to $312,098,097.
