Monthly rate is calculated by dividing weekly amount by 23 percent
(applies to MDTA, NRC, Operation Mainstream, new careers, SVEIP,
VEWS, and vocational rehabilitation (workshop)).

Exclusive of any augments, incentive payments, or other identifiable
increments.

Applies to 47 States, the District of Columbia, and Guam. Elsewhere
payments are: $83 in Mississippi, North Carolina, West Virginia; $74 in
Virgin Islands; and $61 in Puerto Rico.

Some individuals are entitled to unemployment compensation (UC)
during training. If the UC weekly benefit amount exceeds the appropriate
MDTA training allowance, the individual receives an increased training

allowance equaling the UC weekly benefit amount. Where the UC weekly
benefit is less than the MDTA training allowance, the individual receives
the higher amount which is then designated as a supplemental training
allowance.

Training allowances are reduced where trainees are receiving wages, as
follows: OJT trainee allowance is reduced 40 for each hour compensated by
the employer; all trainces compensated for more than 20 hours per week
(except to an OJT trainee by his OJT employer) have reductions: allowances
equal to 100 percent of the carnings paid in excess of 20 hours per week.

Represents range from amount in the lowest paying of 52 jurisdictions to amount in the highest paying jurisdiction. Excludes Virgin Islands ($104)
