Page 34 - The bureau, under the commissioner of customs, administers powers and duties vested in the secretary of the treasury pertaining to the importation and entry of merchandise into, and the exportation of merchandise from, the United States, and to the regulation of certain marine activities.

Page 41 - Collectors of customs are charged with the collection of the customs revenue and the enforcement of the customs revenue laws, the neutrality laws, and such other laws as they may be directed to enforce by the Secretary of the Treasury. The instructions, decisions, and regulations of the Secretary of the Treasury are binding on collectors.
