About the author (2015)

Luis Troyano, a trained graphic designer, beekeeper and baking obsessive, was a finalist on series 5 of The Great British Bake Off. He became known for his ingenious designs and achieved 'some of the most stunning bakes to ever grace the Bake Off tent'. A self-taught cook, Luis has a passion for experimenting with new flavours and ingredients. As a child he spent every summer in Spain with his mother’s family and was brought up with Spanish and Mediterranean food which influences his cooking and baking today. Luis thinks it’s the little boy in him that enjoys the chemistry of mixing all the ingredients together and seeing what happens. The artist in him enjoys the perfecting the look and decoration of a bake. In addition to running his graphic design business, Luis writes a successful blog and runs baking courses at the Seasoned Cookery School in Derbyshire. He lives in Stockport, Manchester, with his wife.
